Accommodation and Facilities

Coppin House has five floors of student accommodation, all accessible via a lift. Security is a priority, with access controlled by a system and CCTV monitored by university security.

Each floor contains 16 similar single bedrooms, each with a single bed and a personal sink. Shower and toilet facilities are shared on each floor, and there are two large, fully equipped kitchens for residents to use. Each floor also includes a movie room and social space to relax and unwind. High-speed Wi-Fi is provided throughout the building.

Coppin House offers functional, clean student living with excellent facilities at the best value for money, making it an ideal choice for students seeking comfort, convenience, and affordability.

Parking

We strongly advise against bringing a car.

Coppin House is a city-centre location with excellent public transport, walking, and cycling options. Residents are strongly encouraged not to bring a car. A very limited number of parking permits are available, granting access to Coppin House and other University car parks. These permits will be available from the beginning of September via the University Online Store.

If the Coppin House car park is full, residents must use the Duncreggan Upper car park on Duncreggan Road, a three-minute walk from the student village. Using public transport, cycling, or walking is the easiest and safest way to get around.

ResLife Team

Coppin House is supported on-site by 3 Resident Assistants (RAs) as part of the ResLife programme. They are available outside office hours to provide guidance, support, and advice to residents. In addition, ResLife Night Assistants and university security staff are available throughout the night to address any issues that may arise. The ResLife team actively promotes a safe and supportive community for all residents.

Student Wellbeing

Our Residential and Facilities Management offices are based at Duncreggan Student Village with support and advice available – if you need it. You want to achieve your independence and we are committed to helping and supporting you to do just that.

In Coppin House we promote the mental, physical health and emotional wellbeing of all staff and residents.  Health and Wellbeing is at the forefront of the ResLife programme and promoting good mental health is a priority.  We actively encourage students and staff to look after their mental health and encourage residents to discuss any issues relating to emotional wellbeing without fear of stigma.

ResLife Night Assistants and security staff are available throughout the night to address any issues which may arise and our Resident Assistants are available outside of office hours to provide additional advice and assistance to residents as required.
