A warm welcome to all our new and returning students!

Whether you are beginning your academic journey or continuing your studies with us, the Library is here to support you every step of the way.

Discover your Library

Come visit the Library and you'll also find space to meet your friends, areas to chill (including colouring and jigsaws!), books to browse, computers to use and laptops available to borrow.

Also check out the Library Maps where we celebrate our diversity. Why not place a pin on the map in your campus Library to show where your home is.

There will also be dedicated quiet spaces in each campus Library to step away from the buzz of Welcome Week. Follow the directions in the Library to find the spaces in your campus library.

Be sure to follow the Library on Instagram to stay up to date with Library news, events, resources, and services.

Introduction to the Library (New Students)

A light-touch 15-minute introduction to help you get started with the Library. These sessions focus on orientation and essential services and run daily at various times and locations. Sessions are booked by faculty and are facilitated by our friendly Library staff.

Library Welcome Stands

Come and say hello to your Library team and find out how we can support your studies. In Welcome Week and Week 1 (14 September – 25th September) these will run daily from 10am – 2pm at:

• Belfast: BC Foyer
• Coleraine: The Bridge
• Derry~Londonderry: MU Teaching Block

Library Discovery Challenge

During Welcome Week and Week 1, we are running a Library Discovery Challenge where you can put your information-finding skills to the test!

• Find any physical book on our shelves and record its details on a post it-note to earn points for your campus to help it climb the Discovery Challenge leaderboard.
• Make sure you visit the Library Information Desk to enter our prize draw for a chance to win a mystery Library Goodie Bag – one to be won at each campus!

Global Exchange Students

A tailored orientation session introducing Global Exchange students to library services, study spaces, collections, and support, followed by a guided library tour.

• Belfast: Tuesday 15 September, 12pm
• Coleraine: Tuesday 15 September, 12pm
• Derry~Londonderry: Tuesday 15 September, 12pm

Campus Library Tours

In Week 2 (28 September – 2nd October) we will be running campus tours so just drop in for a short, friendly tour. You’ll see study spaces, computing facilities and where to find books and journals. Tours start daily from the Library Information Desk at 11am and 2pm on all campuses.
