The Library CEBE subject team have scheduled a number of online workshops for the second semester, covering topics such as: Scopus, USearch, E-books, Law, CIS, Engineering Village & more. Regular online drop-in sessions have also been scheduled.

Negotiations for a new agreement between UK Universities and the publisher Elsevier commenced in March 2021, led by the sector and facilitated by Jisc. In these negotiations, universities have two main objectives: to reduce costs to sustainable levels and to provide full/immediate open access to UK research.

The Library has subscribed a number of new e-resources in recent weeks. They include Skills for Study, Sage Research Methods, Complete Anatomy, History of Feminism and Bates' Visual Guide to Physical Examination.

To facilitate the delivery of the new library in Block BC in Belfast and the required refurbishments in Block BA, the library will move to a new location in Block BB on the Belfast campus from Monday 20th September 2021.

Access to e-books on the O'Reilly Learning platform is now available via OpenAthens authentication using your University credentials. Separate registration for this service is no longer required.

The Library provides a centralised service for scanning copyright material on behalf of the University. To provide extra learning support for students during the COVID-19 crisis, academic staff may now request scans of up to 20% of copyright material within certain restrictions.

Unfortunately, the Dawsonera e-book service has closed. The Library has migrated the majority of Dawsonera e-books to the ProQuest Ebook Central service. Please check Ebook Central for any Dawson e-books you may be trying to access.

The Library is now offering a Reserve and Collect service, to academic staff and students, where you will be able to reserve a book and collect it from your chosen campus.
