External Examiners are key to assuring and enhancing quality, academic standards and the student experience. The external examiner induction is an important opportunity for external examiners to familiarise themselves with the strategic approach to learning and teaching in Ulster University, with a particular focus on assessment and feedback.
This online webinar begins with an overview of Ulster University, the external examiner role at Ulster and academic quality standards, facilitated by Learning Enhancement.
A detailed overview of how the student experience is managed and ultimately presented at a board of examiners is facilitated by experienced Programme Directors and discussion opportunities with the Programme Director associated with the programme(s) you are assigned to.
The workshop offers an opportunity for external examiners to familiarise themselves with the expectations of the University, feel confident about their role and raise any questions they might have regarding University procedures and arrangements.
