Challenge
The ability to collect, manage, analyse and report on massive volumes of market data is vital to long term market success of Click Energy. This project focused on the development of computational intelligence algorithms to analyse and interpret the wide variety of data that have a direct impact on Click Energy.
Solution
This KTP project collaborated with Ulster University to develop:
- Two models for day ahead electricity price forecasting
- Inhouse expertise to predict day ahead market prices.
- Expertise to determine in real-time which key external factors have the most impact on energy prices.
- Prediction of the day-ahead prices for the Integrated Single Electricity Market ("I- SEM") in Ireland allowing Click Energy to make strategic decisions in the purchasing of electricity.
