Entry requirements vary by course, including overall grades and subject-specific requirements. Please check the online undergraduate prospectus for details of your chosen course.
Ulster University normally welcomes applications from students with the following qualifications:
Qualifications
- All India Standard XII (Central Boards or State Boards) with an overall average of 60%, including 60% or above in 5 subjects. Where a course has subject-specific requirements, 60% will be required in each of those subjects.
- Or a 3-year Diploma in Engineering or Technology from a State Board of Technical Education with an overall average of 60%.

To apply for a taught postgraduate course, you will usually need a bachelor's degree equivalent to a UK degree, normally in a relevant subject area.

- Bachelor's Degree: 60% equivalent to a UK 2:1
- Bachelor's Degree: 55% equivalent to a UK 2:2
Meet our postgraduate entry requirements?
Normally the minimum English language entry requirement is IELTS (academic) of 6.0 (with no band score of less than 5.5).
Some of our courses ask for a higher score.
If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
We accept a wide range of alternative English language examinations and tests so please check the list of other accepted tests
- Standard XII English language (Must be English Core) - Pass with a minimum of 70% in Central Boards of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Indian Certificate in Secondary Education (CBSE/ICSE or the State Boards of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.)

For the awards in the table below, scholarship eligibility is assessed at the point an offer is made. Where applicable, awards will be confirmed automatically when your offer letter is issued.
