A wonderful event was held in Saint Mary’s Primary School, Teemore to celebrate the school’s participation in the Confucius Institute's Mandarin Classroom programme.

St Mary’s, a partner in South West College Confucius Hub, were delighted to learn that three of their pupils achieved success in the annual Chinese New Year Poster Compeition, with their award-winning portrayals and interpretations of The Year of the Dog. 
Primary Four pupil, Mia Coyle, was awarded an outstanding First Place in the Key Stage One Category, whilst Eimear Maguire, (Primary Three), and Ciara McGregor, (Primary Seven), received impressive Highly-Commended commendations for their pieces in the Key Stage One and Key Stage Two categories, respectively.
A celebratory gathering and presentation took place in the school to present the girls with their awards, and Mrs Ita Jordan, School Principal, was delighted to welcome Mia and Eimear, along with their parents, grandparents and other family members; staff and tutors from the Confucius Institute, and the whole school community, to the celebrations.
