Proof of Concept Grant

Prince's Trust Explore Enterprise Course

A free course that covers finance, marketing, business planning and sales. Made for anyone aged 18-30 that is looking to start their own business.

Student Entrepreneur Awards 

Turn your smart idea into a great business idea. Delivered through Enterprise Ireland, the Student Entrepreneur awards provide an opportunity to receive business advice with a chance to win cash prizes totalling €35,000.

Enterprise Hub Bursary 

Santander Universities, Engineers and Scientists in Business Fellowship and Ulster University Research & Innovation have made equity free seed funding available to encourage student entrepreneurial activity @ Ulster University in 2025/6.

A limited number of Enterprise Hub Bursaries of between £1000 to £5000 are available from Semester 2 2025/26 to help student innovators and entrepreneurs develop a new product, service, business idea or to support a new start up business (trading for 2 years or under).

Applications are open from 1 March to 26 March 2026 for Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate Ulster University students living in Northern Ireland and studying at one of Ulster University NI campuses.

One application per business permitted if applying as a team/co-founder.

The Enterprise Hub Bursaries are limited and awarded on merit, at the discretion of the Ulster University selection panel during April 2026. The selection panel’s decision is final and there is no right of appeal, feedback on applications is available on request. This bursary funding must only be used for early-stage business start-up related expenditure.

Applications must be submitted to the Enterprise Hub to Emma Donnelly (e.donnelly1@ulster.ac.uk) before 5pm 26 March 2026.
