Elsewhere on Ulster
Through strategic partnerships with industry we will transform Northern Ireland's global competitiveness and attract foreign direct investment.
CIDRA will engage with other regional, national, and international agencies and initiatives to maximise its impact. By offering an open door for the manufacturing industry wanting to prototype and test new software or hardware concepts, explore design possibilities, and gather user feedback, CIDRA facilitates tangible collaboration that benefits both industry and the advancement of manufacturing technologies.
By providing an open door for industry partners in the manufacturing sector our experts will work in partnership from the initial stages of concept development to prototype and testing.
We are working with our partners to deliver these objectives:
CIDRA will function as a collaborative platform, enabling industry stakeholders to work alongside Ulster University researchers. This co-creation of solutions, driven by industry needs and challenges, is central to CIDRA’s ethos.
CIDRA will align it's research and development efforts with the strategic priorities of Northern Ireland's manufacturing ecosystem. This ensures that the innovation generated is relevant and directly addresses the needs of the sector, driving competitiveness and economic growth.
Partners will have access to CIDRA's advanced facilities to prototype and test new software or hardware concepts without significant upfront investment. This de-risks innovation and accelerates the development and adoption of new technologies.
CIDRA provides access to Ulster University’s extensive research expertise in areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics, building upon the foundations of the Intelligent Systems Research Centre (ISRC) and the Centre for Engineering and Renewable Energy (CERE). This knowledge transfer, facilitated through collaborative projects and staff secondments, will upskill the existing workforce and enhance the innovative capacity of partner companies.
"Following our dialogue and engagement with Ulster University, it has become clear to us that CIDRA would provide us with a critical forum of support to help us overcome the challenges we face.
We see the establishment of CIDRA as a key support facility that can help us to achieve our goals to accelerate our adoption of automation and digitalisation. We are therefore supportive of this important project."
"We believe that CIDRA project, and the capabilities it can provide are key to our future growth and success.
Overall we see the support offered by CIDRA as a key enabler of maintaining and growing SpecDrum’s competitive position."
