Mentee Overview
Here you will find everything you need to know about how to find a mentor. This section provides all the information mentees will need to begin your mentoring journey. From an overview of the mentee process and benefits, to testimonials from previous Ulster University graduates who have participated in the Mentoring Programme, a form to send us your request to find a mentor.
Mentee Process & Benefits
- Complete the Find A Mentor Form. This is the best way to let us know you are seeking help from a mentor.
- The UU Connects Team will search our database to identify one or more suitable alumni mentors who could be a match for you.
- A member of the Team will contact any potential mentors and share details of your mentoring request.
- A member of the Team will send you an email notify your when we have found an alumni mentor for you.
- You will then be introduced to you mentor via email, and it will be over to you to arrange your first mentoring session.
- We will aim to find a match as quickly as possible, but please be advised that this process can take 2-3 weeks.

- Gain informal career guidance based on a mentor’s experience.
- Receive guidance on a specific area or topic related to your degree.
- Advice regarding personal and professional skills needed to give you an advantage in industry.
- Build your professional network.
- Develop your confidence and communication skills, and other soft skills to help you succeed in your chosen career.
