About the Robotics Lab

Ulster University’s Cognitive Robotics Lab develops intelligent robotic systems capable of learning, reasoning, and operating in complex environments. Research focuses on areas such as machine learning, robot vision, control systems, motion planning, sensor fusion, and human–robot collaboration, with applications across manufacturing, logistics, and service industries.

The lab maintains strong links with industry and academia, contributing to major research and innovation programmes. It features advanced robotic platforms, sensing technologies, and a fully equipped makerspace, alongside access to high‑performance computing resources including the Kelvin‑2 system.
