Belfast School of Art are delighted to welcome Prof. Riann Coulter , Visiting Professor and Curator / Manager, FE McWilliam Gallery, Banbridge.

In this lecture, Riann will discuss her research into modern and contemporary art and explore how the accepted narratives of Irish art history are formed and reformed through the efforts of writers, curators and teachers, often working in collaboration. Drawing on examples from her career, Coulter will discuss artists including Mainie Jellett, Margaret Clarke, Gerard Dillon, Gerda Frömel, Sharon Kelly and Catherine McWilliams.
