How the Executive MBA changed everything

I didn’t do a degree when I left school but I loved media and always wondered, ‘Am I good enough?’ While I was already successful in my career, I reached a point where I couldn’t grow any further so I undertook the Executive MBA.

From the start, I felt like a sponge, soaking up knowledge and discovering a whole new world. I remember sitting in an accounting class, realising how much I already understood but now had the confidence to apply it. The Executive MBA isn’t just about what you know; it’s about giving you the courage to challenge yourself. There were tough moments too. Operations management felt completely outside my world, but that’s the point. The Executive MBA pushes you to try things you never thought you’d need, and if something isn’t right, you learn to change it. The biggest failure isn’t getting it wrong; it’s never trying at all.

The programme is challenging, but it teaches resilience. Every day in my career, I face things I’m unsure about, but the Executive MBA gave me the ability to step back and ask, ‘How am I going to handle this?’ It helps you build a calmness, a confidence that stays with you long after the programme ends. It’s a short period of time in your life, and what you gain from it lasts forever.
