My Executive MBA experience
The Executive MBA was a turning point in my career. After returning home from England in 2008, I felt the impact of the economic crash and knew I needed to take control of my career growth. I wanted to move into more senior management roles and the Executive MBA at Ulster University provided the perfect platform. The programme offered valuable interaction opportunities, not just with Ulster staff but with peers from a range of sectors, bringing fresh perspectives that really helped shape my leadership approach.
The real value is in the programmes practicality. I could immediately apply what I learned, tweaking my approach and seeing real improvements in my day-to-day work. The exposure to both public and provider sector viewpoints was eye-opening, introducing perspectives I had never considered before.
There’s still more to come in my career, but the Executive MBA has been instrumental in helping me grow, lead, and manage people more effectively. To anyone considering it, go in with your eyes wide open. A supportive employer, strong time management, and a solid family structure make all the difference.
