Cardiovascular Disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 31% of all deaths.

In our part of the world, cardiovascular disease is important accounting for 25% of deaths In Northern Ireland, 27% of deaths in Great Britain in and 29% of deaths in the Republic of Ireland.  It is a global health priority that will grow with ageing populations.

Despite this, it is poorly understood.  We want to improve the understanding of cardiovascular health and cardiovascular disease so that we can better treat and manage cardiovascular patients.
