Ulster Presents welcomes France's Compagnie XY to Derry-Londonderry for their first ever performance on the island of Ireland.

Ulster University and the IWM 14-18 NOW Legacy Fund have invited Compagnie XY to create a new work for 2023 inspired by the achievement of Northern Ireland citizens in sustaining 25 years of the Good Friday Agreement. They will be collaborating with In Your Space Circus and Circusful and local artists over the course of a year.

The journey to 2023 begins by introducing Compagnie XY and their work in a series of surprise, pop-up performances entitled Les Voyages across Derry City from 6th – 11th September 2022.

Les Voyages - Derry-Londonderry will be the 19th edition of Compagnie XY's globally acclaimed project that has taken place in cities and towns from France to Serbia and Denmark to Palestine. The project is designed to collaborate with the public across multiple sites daily, in various small and large groups where people work, live and socialise - responding to everyday experiences of our homeplace in new and inspiring ways.

An eye-popping celebration of bodies achieving seemingly impossible shapes in a cityscape, Les Voyages – Derry-Londonderry will end with Le Grand Rendezvous, a mass performance of lifting each other up; taking place at St. Columb’s Park at 3pm on Saturday, 10th September.

Everyone is welcome. It is free and not ticketed.
