On 30 August, Prof Cath Collins will speak alongside a relatives’ association representative at an event in Chile to mark the International Day against Enforced Disappearance (31 August).

The following day she will travel to Uruguay to lead an exchange between relatives’ association legal teams from Chile and Uruguay, who face similar challenges in their efforts to secure justice for enforced disappearance, torture and other crimes committed by military dictatorships of the 1970s and 1980s.

The events are part of an ongoing Open Society funded project supporting improved state responses to enforced disappearance in Latin America.
