Question and Answer with Marsia

What was your motivation for undertaking postgraduate study?

Back in 2015 I already held a Master's degree and a PhD in Archaeology. I had been teaching at University, although in my spare time, I used to volunteer in museums.

As I was so passionate about museums, I first decided on a Master's degree in Museum Practice and Management at Ulster University.

That was when I realised that I really liked Management, and - why not - soon after, I pursued and completed a second Master's degree at Ulster University, this time in International Business.

How can postgraduate study fit around your busy life?

My experience at Ulster University was fantastic! I studied part-time, via e-learning, because I wanted to learn while making money to support myself.

E-learning allowed me to balance my studies with my personal and professional life, it allowed me to work towards my Continuous Professional Development at my own pace.

It meant I could continue studying even while traveling to see the world.

How can postgraduate study help build your career?

Looking back, Ulster University gave me the confidence and support to study for two degrees outside of my "comfort zone".

Thanks to my degrees at Ulster University I managed to further my career, and I held Management and Senior Management positions in non-profit and for-profit organisations, working in Academia and beyond.
