Ecologies of Care promote the curation of hospitality, resiliency and wellness as a socially engaged practice within art and design.
It will showcase personal and public comfort zones created as artworks that align with arts and health practices.
This topic will be of interest to artists, BSOA students, art educators, art/engagement curators, mental health professionals, and members of the public. It is designed for those who are interested in exploring how care can be supported by creating spaces of artistic nurture.
The event will also be of interest for people who would like to apply these ideas at home as part of their wellness routine.
The topic supports inclusion in the arts and an ethos of accessibility.
The event is organised by the Belfast School of Art, the Art Shop and the Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts Festival.
A special thank you to Art and Design Foundation students for their help creating an Ecology of Care installation for this event.
