Are you considering your next step in your psychology career? Do you want work with adults or children and young people? MSc Applied Psychology will increase your job prospects in your chosen training route.

The programme provides an opportunity for students to enhance their skills and knowledge in areas of applied psychology related to mental health practice and research. It trains and equips students wishing to:

  • Enter further professional training in Clinical, Counselling, Educational or Forensic Psychology
  • Become more employable for positions in the public and private sector (such as assistant/ associate psychologist posts, research assistant/analyst post)
  • Pursue PhD research in the area of mental health.

Students can choose from three training routes on the MSc:

  • Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP) training, specialising in children and young people - pending BPS accreditation
  • Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) training, working in primary care mental health services - BPS accredited
  • Main route working in different therapeutic approaches to maintain a broad range of skills- non-accredited
