DSA1 slim line form: If you have completed or are completing your application for Student Finance and you also want to apply for Disabled Students' Allowances, you should complete the slim line version of the DSA1 form.

Full DSA1 form: If you are applying for Disabled Students' Allowances only or have yet to apply for any other student finance or if you are a part-time student, a post graduate student or if you are studying your course by distance learning you must complete the full version of the DSA1 form.

  • Students from Republic of Ireland

    Students from the Republic of Ireland will find more information on the HEA  fund for students with disabilities along with forms and information on how to apply via the HEA website.

    Students who feel they meet the criteria for this should contact Student Wellbeing to make an appointment with our team who will need to make this application on your behalf. The application window for HEA applications is narrow and closes early in first semester. Early engagement with us is therefore recommended.

  • Students from England

    Students from England hoping to attend Ulster University will find information on eligibility and the process for applying for Disabled Student Allowance through the funding body Student Loans Company (SLC). This fund is open across the academic year for application.

  • Students from Scotland

    Scottish students hoping to attend Ulster University will find information on eligibility and the process for applying for Disabled Student Allowance through your funding body Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). This fund is open across the academic year for application.

  • Students from Wales

    Welsh students hoping to attend Ulster University will find information on eligibility and the process for applying for Disabled Student Allowance through your funding body Student Loans Company (SLC) - Wales. This fund is open across the academic year for application.

  • International Students

    International students who have additional study needs such as a disability, medical condition or specific learning difficulty it is important that you contact Student Wellbeing before you enter the UK. This will allow time to discuss your additional study needs, reasonable adjustment requirements and academic support options available to you.

    You will need to provide relevant supporting evidence, which will need to be written in English. If the original document is not written in English, a certified translation of the evidence is required.

    You may wish to check with the relevant funding body or sponsor in your home country if you are eligible for any disability support funding while you study abroad.
