Details on how to enrol on your course for new and returning students.

Congratulations on receiving a place to study at Ulster University.

All the information you need will be detailed in your joining instructions, which you should have received by email.

Your joining instructions will provide you with information on:

  • How to Enrol on your course
  • How to upload a photo for your student ID card
  • The dates and times of your course induction schedule which is mandatory and will provide you with valuable information

    • managing your student record and Student Finance advice
    • Student Wellbeing Services to support you
    • Library Services and why you should attend your course subject induction

    • Your IT essentials and how to get started on your University account

All returning students, including student on a placement or an intercalary year must enrol each year in order to:

  • Confirm your personal details
  • Receive your student loan
  • Access Blackboard Learn Online for teaching materials.

How to enrol - returning students

Online enrolment for the new academic year is open from 9.00am on Thursday 2 September 2021.

To enrol, you will need your Student ID number, beginning B00 and your PIN (a six digit number, originally set to your date of birth).

Information on your module choices can be accessed via the Module Catalogue.

If you are still unsure of your module choices, you can contact your Course Director for further guidance.

You can amend your personal information, confirm your course and module choices and pay your tuition fees, all through Online Enrolment.

You can also access your network password on Banner Self Service by clicking View Personal Information page.

Resit and Placement Students

If you had to resit exams, resubmit coursework or are returning from placement, you will not be able to enrol until your progress has been approved by a Board of Examiners which is normally towards the end of the second week in September.

Outstanding tuition fees

Students with outstanding tuition fee debt accrued only in academic year 2019/20 will be permitted to register in 2020/21. When setting up the instalment plan for the 2020/21 tuition fees, the outstanding tuition fees from 2019/20  will be included in this plan.

If you are receiving SLC funding to cover all of your 2020/21 tuition fees and select SLC as a method of payment when you register, but you have outstanding fees from 2019/20, you will be required to contact the fees office to set up an instalment plan for this 2019/20 debt which is not being paid by the SLC.

Students with a tuition fee debt outstanding prior to academic year 2019/20 will not  be permitted to register until this debt has been settled.  If you have a query about your tuition fees, please contact the Fees Office by telephone on +44(0)28 7012 4252 or by e-mail

Online Enrolment Helpline

The helpline will operate until the end of September and is available from 10am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 3pm on Friday.
