Overview

Ray McDonnell joined the Law School as Associate Lecturer in 2005. Prior to this he spent 33 years in outside industry. He gained a BA Hons before studying law at Ulster University as a mature student, where he graduated with an LLB and subsequently an LLM.  He also gained a CHERB Fellowship. He is currently module Co-ordinator for undergraduate modules in Tort, Surveillance, Business law and Business law at Masters level, due to teach a Masters in Business law in Dublin in 2017. Each year since 2009 he has have taken a group of second students on an Intensive Law Program to a different European country each year, including France, Holland and Hungary.  He has taught in these countries and also taught surveillance law in Lithuania and Croatia. He has acted as studies adviser to second year undergraduates and currently to final year students. Ray undertakes research in Data Protection, and has co-operated in teaching methods with colleagues in a number of European countries and acted as host to visiting colleagues.
