Dr. Jessica Leigh Doyle holds a PhD in Politics and International Relations from University College Dublin. Her doctoral research was concerned with investigating the role of civil society organisations (CSOs) in advancing democratisation and women's rights in the Middle East North Africa region. It was part-funded by the Turkish Science and Technology Council (TUBITAK) and she spent time as a Research Fellow in Istanbul Technical University (ITU) between 2013 and 2015. Jessica's primary research interests include the role of civil society in processes of democratisation; issues of gender equality and women's rights; minority representation in politics; and the impact of the state and supranational institutions on civil society, democratisation and women's rights.
