Collaborate with Ulster
Ulster academics are strengtheningEuropean and international collaborations and availing of opportunities presented by a range of national, European and international programmes such as UK Research Councils/Charities, US-Ireland and Horizon 2020.
A central focus of our research is increasing participation in the EU's Horizon 2020 programme for Research and Innovation. The EU's Horizon 2020 programme has a budget of almost €80 billion and offers significant opportunities for research, development and innovation across a wide range of disciplines.
Academics at Ulster are already successfully participating in Horizon 2020 and are always keen to hear from potential partners from across Europe to continue to access the funding from the three pillars of the programme:
- Excellent Science – supporting world class talent by developing, retaining and attracting leading research talent.
- Industrial Leadership - strategic investments in key technologies which will stimulate innovation and create growth and jobs.
- Societal Challenges - addressing the concerns of citizens and society through breakthrough solutions resulting from multi-disciplinary collaborations.
The European Research team provides support and guidance to achieve these objectives by encouraging increased participation and building successful partnerships and consortium for winning proposals.
The Research Grants and Contracts team provide support for the development, preparation and submission of proposals for research funding and post-award support is provided by a range of staff in the Research Grants and Contracts team.
