Between 4 and 7 September, Professor Cath Collins convened and participated in the international conference ‘Beyond Impunity? 20 Years after the Pinochet Case’, in Santiago de Chile and the southern city of Valdivia. The keynote speaker was Professor Mark Osiel, of U Iowa. The event also saw the launch of the website ‘Expedientes de la Represion’, a searchable repository with texts and analysis of all recent Chilean Supreme Court verdicts in cases for dictatorship-era crimes against humanity. The conference was partly supported by a UU research project funded by the Open Society Foundation.
