Transforming Education in Northern Ireland

Working out of the School of Education and based at the Coleraine Campus of Ulster University, the UNESCO Centre has become a leading voice in the field of education research.

Founded in 2001, and home to the longest continually operating UNESCO Chair in the United Kingdom, over the years we have built a national and international reputation.

On the island of Ireland, our work focuses on improving educational practice and policy, integrated education, and academic selection.

In the international sphere, we have partnered with major international institutions to deliver projects examining the role of education in peacebuilding, international development and conflict.

Here you can discover more information about our work. This includes in-depth look at our staff members and their research backgrounds, as well as an extensive library of our publications.
