Biomedical Sciences is the largest research area at Ulster University, with a diverse range of research groups including Diabetes, Genomic Medicine, Nutrition Innovation Centre for Food and Health, Optometry and Vision Science , Pharmaceutical Science and Practice and Stratified Medicine.
From lab-based to translational clinical research, there is a broad range of opportunities with leading academics that have a global reach.
In the Research Excellence Framework review in 2014, Biomedical Sciences was ranked in the top five out of 94 universities in terms of research power.
Our research environment was awarded an unprecedented 100% 4* (World leading). 95% of our research impact was scored world leading (4*) and internationally excellent (3*) and 81% of our published research papers were judged to be world leading and internationally excellent (4* and 3*).
