External examiners are important stakeholders to Ulster University and we want to provide all the information needed.
All examiners should be familiar with the Examiners' Handbook before working with Ulster University.
Research Student Administration can arrange overnight accommodation if required and examiners are invited to the Board of Examiner's lunch on the day of the oral examination.
Expenses should be claimed back on the expenses claim form following work with the University.

Right to work in the UK
As per the requirements of the Home Office, Ulster University is obliged to confirm the eligibility of External Examiners' right to work in the UK - please refer to requirements on employment as an external examiner.
