The European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) is holding a three-day workshop at Ulster University in collaboration with the Transitional Justice Institute (TJI). The workshop is on ‘Human Rights implications of terrorism and counter-terrorism: the role of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs)’.
About twelve NHRIs from the wider Europe and four from other regions will participate in the event. TJI’s Prof Fionnuala Ní Aoláin and Dr Catherine O’Rourke will be contributing to the sessions, together with representatives of key international stakeholders like the UN, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Council of Europe and civil society. This is part of ENNHRI’s 3-year EU-funded Project to enhance the effectiveness of NHRIs to promote and protect human rights in situations of conflict and (post) conflict in wider Europe.
