Bradley has received the Hamilton Architects Most Promising Young Designer Award, along with a cash prize and the offer of a job on completion of his studies.
The judges were impressed by the second year student’s design of a satellite community theatre for the Lyric Theatre, which was placed in the heart of Belfast’s Shankill Road.
Seamus McCloskey, Partner at Hamilton Architects, said: “Bradley’s entry was an excellent design project, sensitively handled and well presented. The design demonstrated an understanding of how to bring internal space and volume together to accommodate a large number of spaces and user groups into a relatively small building.
“We were highly impressed by the standard of all the Award entries and hope that, in a small way, we are helping to support the nurturing of young talent that will help put Northern Ireland on the global architectural stage.”
Hamilton Architects, with offices in London, Belfast and Derry~Londonderry, has recently secured over £30m of new contracts and is actively searching for talented young architects to help the business realise key market growth opportunities.
Bradley said: “This September I will be going into final year, and knowing that I have already secured my dream job has given me the confidence and motivational boost to continue to work hard and realise my career ambitions.
“I have always been interested in architecture and fascinated by the role the built environment plays in society, from creating shared spaces that enhance community development to office designs that can boost business productivity.
“I worked extremely hard throughout school to ensure I secured a place on Ulster University’s architecture course and I have been so inspired by my lecturers and peers while studying there.”
