The Banner Student Information System is a database of student records and information maintained by Ulster University.

At Ulster we are always striving to make our processes and systems better for our students through online enhancements and developments.

This year, the Banner system is being upgraded to make for a better user experience.

We are pleased to announce that a new enhanced version of Banner is being rolled out over the next few weeks.

There will be a short downtime period from 6th to 18th November 2019. During this period we will be unable to amend student records.

The system retains student data relating to:

  • Admissions
  • Courses
  • Tuition Fees
  • Personal Information
  • Email Address
  • Password
  • Student and Financial Aid

Logging in to Banner

You can login to Banner through the Portal.

Login through the Portal

Connect to Banner by logging in to the Portal and then click the Banner icon.

Retrieve your network password and email address

  1. Login to Banner as shown above
  2. Select the "Personal Information" tab
  3. Select the "View Student ID, Password and Email Address" link
  4. You can now access your:
    • Network Password (the password is case sensitive)
    • Email Address

Check your registration status in Banner, for Blackboard access

  1. Login to Banner as shown above
  2. Select the "Student and Financial Aid" tab
  3. Select the "Registration" menu option
  4. Select the "Enrolment Status History" menu option
  5. If you are registered correctly, your code should be shown as "RE" and "Registered" on the date you completed on-line enrolment. If anything else is shown as a code, you must liaise with Student Administration to resolve this.
