Your Guide to Digital Services

Welcome to Ulster University. We hope you will make full use of all our ICT services and resources during your time at the University.

Below is some information that staff members, old and new, may find useful. Additionally, we have created the following guides which can be shared with new staff as part of their induction.

  • Getting Started IT Guide for Staff - This is our full guide and provides information on our full range of Digital services for staff and support to get you up and running quickly from the moment you receive your credentials.

Upon Arrival

University staff who are full or part-time employees, or temporary members of staff are automatically provided with access to IT facilities and services upon arrival at the University. Staff will attend an ‘ID Clinic’ as part of the Staff Induction Programme organised by the People and Culture Department and will be provided with a Staff eCode.

Staff eCode

On appointment, a member of staff receives a staff number from People and Culture. This information is also used for the login username to access systems in the University. The format used simply precedes the staff number with a lowercase 'e'. This is commonly referred to as your eCode, e.g. e12345678.
