About the School of Psychology
The School of Psychology is recognised as a student centric convivial centre of academic excellence. We work in partnership with our students to provide a wide range of academic programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
A significant feature of our undergraduate programmes is our optional placement scheme which affords students the opportunity to enhance their employment prospects by gaining relevant work experience in a wide variety of professional settings. At Ulster, we aim to provide flexible, interesting and challenging postgraduate programmes that focus on the applications of psychology to health and social issues.
Teaching is delivered by renowned researchers knowledgeable in the latest advances in Psychology and good practice in pedagogy. We are based at Ulster University’s Coleraine campus and comprise of 33 academics, 9 of whom are professors.
Research assessment exercises highlight the importance of our extensive collaborative partnerships with other world leading centres of excellence to produce findings which have real benefits to society.
In 2017, the School of Psychology was awarded the Athena SWAN Bronze Department Award. This award is in recognition of the on-going work were are undertaking within the School to promote gender equality for all our staff and students.
