All Campuses will now be closed for teaching and social activities

Following the clear imperative in the latest government advice to avoid all non-essential contact with others and avoid unnecessary travel, the decision has been made to suspend all teaching and social activities on campus and to close all libraries, sports facilities, theatres, catering facilities and cancel events.

We have further advice and guidance for our staff and students on our Covid-19 Corona Virus site

Blood Glorious Blood Event

As part of the Friendship Four Tour (Belfast 2017), Ulster University’s School of Biomedical Sciences is hosting a STEM event at W5

The wonderful world of blood is explored in the A-Level Update for Schools lecture, presented by Dr Declan McKenna, Lecturer in Haematology.

Dr McKenna will discuss the importance of blood in an entertaining and informative manner, using topical examples and popular references to explain the subject.

In addition, the lecture will complement the current A-Level Biology syllabus by covering elements such as immunology, genetics, DNA technology, and cell biology.

There will also be a presentation by Prof Stephen McClean about courses and careers within the School of Biomedical Sciences

It will therefore be particularly useful for Biology teachers and pupils wishing to learn more about the cutting edge application of biology in the world today.

The pupils will also be able to talk to a number of exhibitors working in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, Optometry, Stratified Medicine, Pharmacy and Psychology.
