The Effects of The Selective System of Secondary Education in Northern Ireland (2000)

In partnership with the Queen's University Belfast and commissioned by the Department of Education, this report series examined academic selection and its effects on the education system in Northern Ireland.

The project was organised around a number of distinctive strands. These included the impact of selection and open enrolment on pupils, teachers, and primary and post-primary schools. In addition, a strand of the research was to consider the wider impact of selection and open enrolment on the perceptions of education by members of society. The research findings are available below:
