Teaching RE for Depth: 5 tried and tested ways to explore spiritual questions with 5-11 year olds...
This seminar and discussion will give any primary teacher of RE food for thought as well as 5 lessons ready to teach tomorrow on big spiritual idea. The conference will also include opportunities to network and liaise with other practitioners of RE across Northern Ireland. This will be a cross-community/ sector event.
There will be refreshments available at 4:00pm.

Lat Blaylock
The conference will feature key note speaker Lat Blaylock. Lat is the Editor of RE Today magazine, and a national RE adviser in the UK. In this role he was a consultant to the national Christian Aid Schools and Youth team for ten years. He was a classroom teacher of RE for 11 years in a large secondary school in Leicester. He meets about 4000 teachers of RE every year through his training and professional development work. He has published a number of RE resources, including making six series of broadcasts with the BBC. He has written 4 best selling packages of visual learning materials, called ‘Picturing Jesus’ which use the global art of the contemporary Christian communities for RE. He was the specialist writer for the RE Council National Curriculum Framework for RE in 2013, and a member of the team that produced ‘Understanding Christianity’, published in 2016.
