Museums, Crisis and Covid-19 project
The Museums, Crisis and Covid-19 project documented the experience of the pandemic across the museum sector in Northern Ireland. We saw changing working practices, an increasing use of digital media, and a strong recognition of the value museums can bring as places that support community wellbeing.
At the end of the project, we produced a set of reports and recommendations.
This event will use these recommendations, and experiences from the museum sector across Northern Ireland, as the foundation for discussion on future policy priorities for the sector.
Workshop structure
The workshop will be broken down into three sections, each beginning with some short ‘pitches’ by stakeholders across the museum sector, focused on two questions:
- What is the biggest challenge facing the sector?
- What is your ambition for the sector post-pandemic, and how do we facilitate achieving this? We ask that attendees also consider their own responses to these questions in advance of the workshop.
There will be significant scope for small group discussion throughout the day, before concluding with discussion focused on the future needs of the museum sector.
