Measurable development in the workplace is key to ensuring that all staff feel valued, understand what they need to achieve, how to achieve it and how this fits with the plans and priorities of the organisation.
Are you able to answer the following questions:
- How am I doing? (do you have regular conversations, coaching and mentoring opportunities, appraisals and reviews?)
- What must I achieve? (do you have set objectives to work towards?)
- What set of attributes am I required to acquire and exhibit? (do you know what you need developmentally to reach these objectives?)
- How do I fit with the plans and priorities of my School/Department and the University?
If not, how can the University's policies and procedures support you to be able to answer these questions?
We all want to be able to contribute effectively with access to opportunities to develop and demonstrate skills as well as have successful achievements recognised.
Karan Green and Kate Burns (Organisational Design and Change) will be coming along to discuss the new approach to people development in the University. This includes the DAR process and access to continuing professional development. They are keen to get your feedback. How can this new approach support you?
Please come and have your say!
