World Town Planning Day (WTPD) is an international day celebrating the accomplishments of planners and planning’s contribution to building sustainable communities.

Join Ulster University’s planning staff and students (UPLAN) for a special educational event to celebrate this year’s World Town Planning Day (WTPD). We will have interactive activities to explore planning’s role in delivering the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and discussing how we translate these global goals into local action to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

We are inviting year 13 and 14 students from schools to join our undergraduate students, postgraduate researchers and planning academics. Local practitioners will also be attending to share their perspectives.

This event will be of particular interest to A level Geography students, and all students who are interested in how our towns and cities work.

Lunch will be provided to all participants. Please indicate in advance if there are any special dietary or access requirements.
