Anthony Lilley, Professor of Creative Industries, will present as part of the Civic Lecture Series his Inaugural Professorial Lecture.

Anthony will reflect on 25 years working across the creative industries from theatre to computer games via websites, apps, TV programmes and back to theatre again; first at Magic Lantern and now co-founder of commercial theatre business, Scenario Two.

As a creative entrepreneur, policy advisor and regulator Anthony has had an unusual journey to his seat as a Council Member of AHRC and Professor of Creative Industries at Ulster University.

From this perspective, he will consider how we think about innovation in the creative industries, exploring such fertile fallacies as the notion of creative industries itself, the distinction between creative and cultural industries, the definition of R&D and evidence-based policy-making.
