Historically, technology innovations have been routinely embedded into the design and delivery of healthcare services. This continues today as political, societal, and professional transformation agenda’s promote the use of new and emerging technologies to meet the ever increasing demands within health and social care. Digital technologies (iPads, Alexa, smart phones, sensor alarm systems) are now common-place in everyday life and have potential to be integrated into health and social care services. In her inaugural lecture Professor Suzanne Martin will share reflections from her applied research exploring the integration of technology into health and social care services and how as an occupational therapist she has supported device design and system implementation. With a focus on ethically robust, person centred services Suzanne will explore the potential and agility of traditional services to exploit real-time opportunities.
The event takes place in Lecture Theatre 9F03 and is open to everyone.
