Philip Griffiths, Professor of Building Physics, presents as part of the Civic Lecture Series, his Inaugural Professorial Lecture entitled "Are you sitting comfortably? Lessons from 25 years of research"

Energy is central to our whole way of life, but when we consume energy do we really think what we are trying to achieve?  The building sector, along with transport is our largest consumer of energy through a system of centralised power generation and increasingly gas consumption.  Climate change, resource depletion and pollution abatement has driven efforts to replace fossil fuels over the last 50 years, but how do we achieve this while continuing to have the same convenience and comfort that we have come to expect?

This event takes place in the Conor Lecture Theatre and is open to everyone.
