The Ulster University Economic Policy Centre appoints Gerry McGinn as an independent member to its Advisory Board
Gerry McGinn is an experienced business leader, he was previously CEO of financial institutions in London, Dublin, and Belfast and was Permanent Secretary of two government departments in Northern Ireland.
Mr McGinn is currently Chairman of the Strategic Investment Board, and Vice Chair of the Progressive Building Society. He was previously a non-executive director of Invest NI for seven years.
Dr Graham Gudgin, Chair, Ulster University Economic Policy Centre said:
“I am delighted to welcome Gerry onto our Advisory Board, he brings a wealth of experience and insight from both the private sector as well as public sector policy making spheres. This will be of significant benefit to the quality of our research and ultimately the Northern Ireland economy.”
On his appointment Mr McGinn said,
“Developing the Northern Ireland economy has been a lifelong interest. I consider it a huge privilege to be appointed to the Ulster University Economic Policy Centre Advisory Board, as enhancing our economy is right at the heart of the work the Centre leads. I am looking forward to working with the team in the University as it continues to produce relevant research to inform policy development and implementation for the benefit of all our community.”
