Institution of Environmental Sciences Graduate Workshop

Open to final years in the School of Geography and Environmental Sciences.


Outline of Activity

Courses within the School of Geography and Environmental Sciences are accredited by the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES). Students in the School can apply to become Student Members of the IES which will enhance their CV. The IES are offer a bespoke Graduate Workshop for Ulster University final year students. By completing this workshop in full, students will develop employability skills and gain a deeper insight into graduate careers from Geography and Environmental Science degrees.

Learning Outcomes

  • To develop an understanding of careers and further study opportunities from Geography and Environmental Science degree.
  • To enhance CV writing skills through a dedicated CV clinic
  • To develop skills in finding employment after graduation.

Assessment Details

    • To attend the full Graduate Workshop given by IES staff
    • To obtain IES student membership (https://www.the-ies.org/joining/student_membership)

Level of Commitment

Students must attend the IES workshop run by the IES staff. If you have not attended the full workshop you will not be able to gain EDGE Accreditation. The EDGE accreditation will take approximately 20 hours in total.
