CME Group Trading Challenge

CME Group's Trading Challenge is a four-week electronic trading competition.

Outline of Activity

CME Group's Trading Challenge is where teams of undergraduate and graduate students can trade a variety of CME Group products from multiple asset classes in a simulated trading environment on a realtime professional trading platform provided by CQG.

Learning Outcomes

This electronic trading team competition is designed to provide student teams with an educational experience consistent with that of professional trading of CME Group products.

Teams trade using live data in a simulated environment. This challenge will encourage professional and commercial awareness as well as team-working skills.

Assessment Details

Participation will be reviewed through the CME Round Results (that encapsulates a team's progress in understanding of trading in the financial markets).

Level of Commitment

Students must complete 4 weeks:

Each team is required to have between three and five students from the Dept of Accounting, Finance and Economics.

Daily research and team-decision-making needs to shown through out.
