UUSU Leadership Development Programme

The UUSU Leadership Development Programme has been designed for students who are currently in positions of leadership - either within the Students' Union or through external volunteer roles.


Outline of Activity

The programme aims to build on their experience as student leaders and help them develop a leadership mind-set by taking part in workshops such as: Know your leadership style, Entrepreneurial Leadership, PWC Visit with Industry leaders, Design thinking & Innovation and finally a workshop to help them reflect and apply the knowledge they have gained through this programme and as a student leader.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the activity students will be able to:

  • Understand your leadership style and how that determines the way you should present yourself to others
  • Be able to apply design-thinking processes to solve everyday problems, be this societal or organisational issues
  • Learn how to best present your experience and knowledge gained as a student leader to potential employers or business partners.

Assessment Details

Students must attend 3 of the 5 workshops across the academic year to gain a certificate of completion.

Level of Commitment

15 hours.
