UU Start: Kickstart your business idea - A Student and Graduate Enterprise Programme helping UU students launch their own business.


Outline of Activity

UU Start is a comprehensive support programme for student entrepreneurs at all stages of their business journey from just having a business idea, to expansion! Split into four tracks, you will join the track most relevant to your support needs; • Track 1 – New Product Development, • Track 2 - Retail & Ecommerce, • Track 3 – Services & Freelancing, • Track 4 – Software & Tech. Applications are open all year.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the activity students will be able to:

  • Develop a business concept based on your passions & skills
  • Create solutions that have commercial potential
  • Kickstart your business idea with one to one advice sessions
  • Identify and develop skills for running a successful business
  • Be supported by industry experts and alumni entrepreneurs
  • Be eligible for a range of Ulster University grants to help launch your business
  • Be guided from idea through to selling your first product or service

Level of Commitment

25+ hours. This is in the form of 1:1 meetings and personal commitment/work.
