To help you be more prepared and feel more confident in applying for opportunities this activity will give you access to 1-1 coaching alongside the completion of simulated recruitment processes through Employability & Careers digital tools.

Learning Outcomes

Whether you are getting ready to apply for internship, placement or graduate opportunities being as prepared as possible is going to make you feel more confident and competitive, enhancing your chances of securing the job offer.

Recruitment-Ready provides you with the opportunity to test yourself, build your confidence and experience, all with 1-1 coaching from our Employability Advisor team.

Your learning outcomes will be based on your individual needs identified at an initial consultation.

They can include:

  • Gaining experience and understanding of psychometric tests used by larger employers
  • Understanding the fundamentals of a great CV and applying these in practice
  • Enhanced confidence and preparation for Job Interviews, supported through 1-1 coaching

When you book your consultation you will be able to select 'Recruitment Ready (EDGE)' from a drop down list as the reason for your consultation.

Assessment Details

To complete this activity for your EDGE Award you will go through the following:

  1. Complete an initial 1-1 Careers Consultation with an Employability Advisor. This will help the advisor understand your goals, challenges and barriers and will help them provide you with tailored support and coaching.
  2. Complete 7 practice Psychometric Tests used in Recruitment. You will access these from the Abintegro Careers Platform https://ulster.careercentre.me/resources/aptitudetests/ You will complete 3 Verbal Reasoning, 3 Numerical Reasoning and 1 Situational Judgment test.
  3. Upload your CV to CV360 and develop yourCV until you get to the 'Green Zone'
  4. Complete a practice Video Interview on Interview360 and sharing this with your Employability Advisor for additional feedback
  5. Complete a further 1-1 Careers Consultation with your Employability Advisor. This consultation will allow you to reflect on what you have learned and plan additional goals to help build your confidence to be Recruitment Ready.

Level of Commitment

15-20 hours including completion of activities and 1-1 coaching
