Mentorship in a Schools Outreach Programme

Student volunteers are recruited to act as mentors to pupils in local schools and as (volunteer) ambassadors.


Outline of Activity

Mentors are trained and then facilitate workshops for these pupils around themes such as leadership and making informed financial decisions.

Learning Outcomes

  • To facilitate the development of professional and practical skills of student volunteer mentors.
  • To encourage the confidence of student volunteer mentors in facilitating workshops.
  • To strengthen the communication skills of student volunteer mentors.

Assessment Details

Observer evaluation of student volunteer mentors and post-reflective feedback along with peers.
